3. CAbi Jersey Blazer ( $89) I wear this one everyday...its jersey so I wash it all the time...you know Henry dumps applesauce and juice down my back all the time...whats a mom to do? no excuses moms...running around out there in junky clothes. Just get washable ones. duh.

This rugged old belt look has been dominating my thoughts this week and Ray has asked..."Have you seen my brown belt?" I say "nope."...cause its MY brown belt now. See some photos below from my fave street style websites...aren't this girls amazeballs?

3. Smiles

We were sitting at a Runza....For those who don't know what that is...Nebraska folk have another food group (runza)...and 2 women came out of the restaurant....one was heavy, kinda put together and the other was thin, and had beautiful clothes on. I was with my folks and Henry...the larger lady smiled in our direction and the other one didn't. My Mom says this "Katie, wasn't her hair just beautiful? She just looked so nice." I said which one...she said "the bigger gal..."(I love when she says the word GAL) I noticed both and the thin woman had better hair. I believe that my mom (who just doesn't say things for the sake of saying things...) said that nice thing about the "bigger" lady because she noticed her smile.

What I am trying to say here people...is SMILE! Say HI to the person that you pass on the sidewalk. To the person who sits down at the table next to you....pumping your gas next to you...Be friendly. Wear your smile this week for people...you never know who needs one.

I am done being inspirational...back to judging the way you dress.....

5. I know, I have a blazer problem....but look at this piece of sunshine from the gap:

if you don't have the nards to wear a white one, or cobalt blue one, wear this one...just don't match your denims....wear with white, black or a dark wash jean.

6. Emmannelle Alt is my IT girl of the week. She is the fashion director of French Vogue and I am going to Burglarize her closet. I kinda am not joking....if I could wear these clothes in jail.

8. Make up Obsession of all time....I have used it since college...

Cover Girl Concealer

This will cover up anything! Dark Circles from Drinking too much, Zits from drinking too much, Pregancy mask from having babies too much....anything. Get the Neutral...it seems really light but blends with any color of foundation. Even in my "richer" days...I tried to find a better concealer at Sephora...but always returned to my ole' college stand by...thanks cover girl. I feel easy, breezy, beatiful....Cheap Ass Cover Girl.

I know its a shorty but a goodie. Don't forget your blazers, smiles, boyfriend belts and jeans, topped off with a touch of your own personal style.

I get this question a lot..."how do you pull that off!? If I wore that I would look stupid..." my answer to that is either one of two things, depending on if I am annoyed with you or not:

1. "the only stupid thing here is the fact that you aren't wearing the clothes that you WANT to wear and only wearing the clothes that you and others think that you SHOULD wear."

2. "if you just put your shoulders back and smile....everyone it going to think that they are crazy for not wearing what you are wearing"

I know that I have said these things to some of you reading this so I am not going to tell you which one I say to people that I am annoyed with.

I am so over the Omaha Mom look of knock off True Religion Jeans, Uggs and a plain cotton shirt with a cleaver saying on it like "Super MILF".....and a half ponytail (the one that doesn't make it thru that last pull...what the hell is that?) Start to take some pride in yourself people...have fun with your clothes and for god sakes brush your hair.

4.Fave Fave Fave Moisturizer

Do you ever feel like you only have 2 seconds to get ready (hey moms!) and you don't want to look like a wet dog before you leave your house!? Here ya go! This stuff is worth it. Slather some on after the shower and poof!...looks like you gained about 4 extra hours of sleep! SPF 30 and some shimmer. Worried about looking like you are going to da club cause of the shimmer? Don't...its barely there shimmer. :)

5. Bomber Jackets






Have to have this ladies...it updates everything. Toss one of these on with any sundress or with a tee and jeans. You instantly become the coolest girl at the bar...you know the one who probably gets backstage at every show. BE THAT GIRL.

6. Folders Coffee Chocolate Truffle

Want to break your starbucks addiction? Go run to the supermarket and grab this! Your mom coming over without a lot of notice? Pop this shizz in the coffee maker and it will smell like you have been baking all day; not sitting on the couch truly "Keeping up" with the friggin Kardashians or indulging in Intervention reruns.

7. If you ever feel like you don't know what to wear to the art gallery opening, concert, dinner at the wine bar? You want to look chic and have zero time to think about it? Google or Bing Chloe Sevingy and take notes....serious note taking ladies....

I know that she seems a little over the top...but this is how you will be dressing in 2 years...maybe she is an alien and she sees the future...or she is just that girl that I want to be.

8. I want to do this art project : somebody else do it and let me know how goes....I think that this would make a great gift for a friend who does the driving on a summer road trip...

Lavender is yummy....better than Vanillarama or New Car Smell.

9. Cobalt Blue, Royal Blue...whatever...its your new basic.

I don't care what hair or eye color you have...this color looks drop dead amazing on you so try this trend! Best in Blazer or Pencil skirt....I heart this color!

Just don't match your shoes or eyeshadow to your Blue Piece....then you will look like white trash going to find a job at a telemarketing place. Make it effortless....jeans, white tee, nude pair of heels and a blue jacket....
